Every month we bring you a fresh line up of top class professional comics

New Year Show: Friday, 28th January 2011....

Pierre Hollins

Headlining this month, Pierre Hollins is a stand up comedian and writer. The only other ‘proper jobs’ he’s ever had were washing dishes in the House of Commons, labouring on a gas pipe line in Qatar and teaching drama to the mentally ill! He has been an audience favourite on the comedy circuit for many years, and has headlined at clubs throughout the world. In the early days he worked as a support act to Lenny Henry and Rory Bremner; appeared in the West End and toured with The Flying Pickets. His relaxed amiability is defined by a compelling conversational style and absurd guitar posturing. His 'songs' are jokes that rhyme set to a guitar backbeat. Hollins doesn’t travel down the easy route of song parodies. He covers topics from love and hate, to sex and politics with a totally original angle, delivering his material with charm and irrelevance.

"A MUST See!" - The Gaurdian
Janice Phayre

Janice Phayre dominates the room through sheer force of personality, bursting onto the stage with an explosion of nervous energy. With energised, impish charm, she passionately describes, and mimes the reactions that news receives shrieking, like her compatriot Graham Norton, with mock-outrage at her own boldness. On the basis of her excitable performance alone, she's simply a force to be reckoned with. She also loves talking dirty, apparently, which I suspect some of you may rather enjoy!

"A force to be reckoned with" - Chortle
Dan Wright

Middle Act - DAN WRIGHT

Middle act DAN WRIGHT is best known in comedy circles as one-half of the double-act 'Electric Forecast' and has a list of television credits longer than a long man’s long bits. You might recognise him as the co-host of the C-Beebies programme ‘Big Cook, Little Cook’ (well, if you have children that is!) He’s also starred in the Yorkie Bar adverts! He’ll be appearing by himself this month and there’ll be no second takes so we look forward to seeing what he has to offer live on stage.

"Very original, very funny, extremely entertaining" - City Life
Lenny Peters

Lenny Peters has been a professional comedy actor for over ten years. He has appeared in a number of TV sitcoms including 'Life as we Know It' with Richard Wilson (BBC) & 'Fifteen Stories High' with Shaun Lock (BBC). His stage experience covers comic roles as diverse as Algernon in 'The Importance of Being Earnest', Malvolio in '12th Night', and a big fat monkey in 'Apes Society'. As a stand up Lenny has appeared up and down the country at numerous clubs and universities. His Edinburgh show 'Comedy Cocktail' a mix of stand up, sketches and improvisation, was a sell out success.
