Mark Maier

Headline Act - MARK MAIER

Multi award winning writer and comedian Mark Maier has played to crowds all over the globe. He regularly performs with the critically-acclaimed 'Comedy Store Players', has taught improvisational comedy in London and founded the group 'MadLib' which performed at the Edinburgh Festival. Mark is as understated as he is underrated; an experienced artisan of observational comedy who, with little fuss or hoopla, simply gets on with the task of showing how it should be done. A well-employed gift for accents provides alluring mini-dramatisations of all the scenes he expressively but economically describes. Before pursuing his lifelong interest in comedy, Mark had a successful career in advertising. In America he wrote and performed radio commercials and won the prestigious ‘World's Best Broadcasting Advertisement’ at the Hollywood Radio & Television Awards. He continues to be in demand for voice over work. It’s a skilful, digressive delivery with a focus that elevates him above the crowd.

"It's high time someone gave him a TV show of his own" - The Gaurdian
Mickey Sharma

MICKEY SHARMA will be our opening act this month, hold on to your seats! He’s only been on the circuit since 2009 but has been moving up the comedy ranks at a rate of knots. Mickey has made fantastic progress as a relative newcomer to comedy, already winning a respectable collection of new act competitions. Most notably, Mickey has made the ‘King Gong’ finals at the Comedy Store five times, in as many appearances. We think you’ll love him!

"Look out for Mickey Sharma, he's going to be massive" - Andy White
Laura Carr

Middle Act - LAURA CARR

Middle act LAURA CARR is a lively young lady who has just returned from this year’s Edinburgh Festival. At just 22 years of age, cute and sassy Laura is brimming with confidence. She delivers an appealing, fluid and energetic set that includes some extremely hilarious anecdotes. She holds the stage like a seasoned pro, allowing her friendly and inviting wit to shine through. From her childhood at a naturist park in Norfolk, to living in London in her late teens, Laura shares the trials and tribulations she faces as a young woman with daring honesty.

"A fresh-out-of-the-box bombshell that will make your night explode with laughter" – The Lions Den
Neil Cole

Compère - NEIL COLE

Hosting the evening is well established actor, writer & comedian NEIL COLE. When not jetting around the globe presenting the ‘World Rally Championship’ for channel Dave, he performs stand-up all around the country. Neil’s career began with acclaimed comedy double-act ‘Hitchcock's Half Hour’, who won the coveted ‘Hackney Empire New Act Of The Year’ Award in 1998 and went on to appear on BBC1's Stand Up Show, among others. Neil exhibits a relaxed, amiable presence and an easy chemistry with his audience as he draws on a wealth of on-stage experience. Cole delights in wordplay and possesses a mixed bag of excellent, self-consciously groan-worthy puns. He’s appeared at comedy clubs large and small including The Royal Albert Hall and also recently supported Russell Brand on his national tour. Neil has a string of media credits behind him, including 3 years presenting for MTV and hosting a regular show on XFM. Neil also recently recorded his contribution to BBC Radio 4's comedy show, ‘28 Acts In 28 Minutes’.
