Phil Alexander

Pre-Show Entertainment - PHIL ALEXANDER

Regular performer at our Sunday night open mic night and member of the RRANTS performance group, Phil is a definite favourite of ours. He has composed more than a thousand musical parodies covering a wide range of subject material from corruption in the House of Lords to his understated hatred of Brittney Spears. His lyrical genius ranges from the side splittingly funny to the sharpest satirical wit, taking in an unhealthy dose of sheer bloody filth for good measure. We love him and we think you will too.
Mickey D

Headline Act - MICKEY D

Top of the bill this month is Australian comedian MICKEY D who has performed in a vast array of festivals and tours throughout the world. Stereotypical Aussie, Mickey is a fun-loving, good-humoured guy always up for sharing a tall tale or two. He has exported his cheeky and energetic brand of comedy to various corners of the globe, charming crowds from Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland, Montreal and most recently his 7th Edinburgh festival. There's a mischievous glint in his eye as he recounts his witty anecdotes of being an antipodean abroad, and his exploits as a children's entertainer. Mickey's boundless energy and infectious smile is sure to rub off on any audience. Don't miss this young man shine.

"Charmingly gregarious and a world class talent" - The Independent
Steve N Allen

Opening Act - STEVE N ALLEN

Stand-up, writer and radio presenter, Steve N Allen keeps himself busy! He broke into stand-up in early 2002 and since then has become a regular performer across the UK showing a workmanlike progress through the comedy ranks that is highly encouraging. Steve has a warm and friendly style using his material to build rapport with the audience, he skilfully mixes topical and observational material with an selection of neat one-liners.

"Charming and witty" -
Mark Restuccia

The well-spoken Mark Restuccia has the verve and confidence of a seasoned pro, despite having been on the circuit for only two years. It comes as no surprise to learn that he’s a voiceover artist by day – as he knows how to deliver his material well. Mark recently appeared on BBC3 in a sketch called 'The Mugging' which he wrote and performed in himself. He has a full diary of stand up gigs this year and we look forward to seeing him in action on our stage this Friday.

"Absolutely Brilliant." - Paramount Comedy
Hils Barker

Hosting the show this month, Richard Sandling brings quick wit and a booming voice to the stage. He runs a video shop in Southend and has an enormous passion for the movies, which he loves to share with the audience during his set. He boasts an encyclopaedic knowledge of the silver screen and we reckon there hasn't been a film made which Rich doesn't know all about! It's not all movies however, Sandling has made big progress in the past three years; He's written two successful Edinburgh shows, won the prestigious 2007 "So You Think You're Funny?" award, and has been a regular presence at some of the most vibrant and fun comedy gigs around the South East.
